Two bedroom Gite - Open all year round
Built of stone, with walls up to one metre thick and a traditional Charentaise porch, the oldest part of the house is at least 400 years old, while the newer parts were mainly built during the lifetime of Napoleon!
The original building is said to have been a small garrison, going back perhaps 600 years, with windows in the cellar and roof areas shaped as embrasures.
The Gite offers quiet, comfortable accommodation with modern services, in a country setting.It is self contained, with its own entrance opening onto a traditional Charentaise courtyard

Living room/kitchen; table and 4 chairs, sofa, armchair, 4 ring cooker/oven, microwave, fridge/freezer, toaster, electric kettle, cutlery, crockery, cooking vessels, iron, ironing board, etc.
2 Bedrooms with queen size double beds, wardrobes, bedside tables and bedside lights. Second bedroom also has a double Futon and a single fold out bed/chair.
Bath with overhead shower, wash basin, WC and washing machine
Gas central heating and continuous hot water
VCR and DVD player provided: selection of tapes and DVDs available at no charge
Bedding, bed linen and towels provided, with weekly provision of replacements
Outdoor dining facilities
Off-road parking; quiet village location
The owners live in a separate house onsite so are available for advice and assistance.
L’Abeille is situated in Tarsac, a tiny hamlet 10 Km from Angouleme and 15 Km from Jarnac. Just north of the N141. We are 20 minutes from Angouleme airport, 1 hour 15 minutes south of Poitiers airport and 1 hour 30 minutes north of Bordeaux airport.
Prices From Saturday to Saturday, arriving at 4 pm departing at 10 am, payable in Sterling, or Euro equivalent.
GITE Self catering:
January to March, October to December £150 per week
April and May £250 per week
June and September £275 per week
July and August £350 per week
Rates for longer winter periods are available on request. We are open all year round.
Welcome pack: recommended, as supermarkets close at 7 pm on Saturdays and are closed on Sundays. We can supply an order form and charges are at cost, with no mark-up.
Evening meal can be arranged for the evening of your arrival
4 course meal with 1/2 bottle of wine 15 Euros per person

Deposits: Gite reservations - 25% of the total cost, plus a £50 security and breakages deposit is requested on arrival with the final balance payable eight weeks before the start of the holiday.
